World Environment Day being celebrated worldwide

World Environment Day has been celebrated worldwide on June 5 every year since 1973, following the announcement of the United Nations General Assembly and the United Nations Environment Program.
Environment Day is being celebrated in Nepal this year with the slogan ‘Eliminate plastic pollution, use environment-friendly alternatives’.
It is said that 400 billion tons of plastics are produced in the world every year, of which 50 percent of the plastics are made to be used only once.
In this situation, the world community is being asked to unite against plastic pollution this year.
