Rain might play a spoilsport in Nepal-Namibia clash !
Prateek BhattaKathmandu, 20th February. Nepal is playing against Namibia on Wednesday in its third match of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 triangular series involving Nepal, Namibia, and the Netherlands. The match is scheduled to start at 9:30 am according to Nepali time at the TU International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.
However, Rain might play a spoilsport in this reverse fixture as there is a high possibility of rain disrupting the game. As there will be change in weather and rain forecast has also been called for next 2-3 days, the game might be delayed or even canceled due to rain.
According to the meteorologist, since Monday night, a system has entered Nepal due to which there is a possibility of rain in many places of Nepal for the next three days. Especially today (Tuesday), there is a possibility of rain in western Nepal and from midnight all over the country. As there will be moderate rainfall, it is seen that it will affect the match between Nepal and Namibia.
Meteorologist Ujjwal Upadhyaya says that there will be good rain in Kathmandu on Wednesday. If it rains since the night, there will be a delay in the start of Nepal’s match, which may reduce the overs, if it rains after the start of the match, there is a possibility of the match getting canceled, which will result in Nepal & Namibia sharing a point each. The match continuity will depend on how long the rain lasts.
Nepal has won one of the 2 matches played so far. After losing to Namibia, Nepal then defeated the Netherlands. Similarly, Namibia was defeated by the Netherlands yesterday which has resulted each team winning at least one match after being defeated once. All three teams are at 2-2 points with 1 win and 1 loss.
Nepal will play the last match against the Netherlands on Sunday.
